Right Place. Right Time.

I was in the right place at the right time.

A few weeks ago, I visited a spot where I often go to breathe. I needed to unwind, clear my mind, and prepare for a presentation. While I was there, I ran into an acquaintance and casually asked, “Kumusta ka? (How are you?)”

That simple question opened a door to a conversation I hadn’t expected.

She shared that she was heartbroken—not over a relationship, but because of her work. She felt disrespected at work, and it was causing her stress. She was struggling to get through each day, and it seems like sharing this helped her ease the burden.

I listened intently, not just to her words but also to her body language. I noticed how she tried to calm herself, the way her face tightened as she fought back tears, and how her breathing was shallow, reflecting the tension she felt.

A few weeks later, I saw her again. She shared an update on her life. She had resigned from her job. She asked if she had made the right decision, as she was still under a lot of stress and needed reassurance. We talked through her situation, and she mentioned that she had found ways to clear her mind and detox. Yet, even as she shared this, I could see the pain in her eyes as she recalled her recent struggles. It reminded me how powerful a single word, a situation, or an experience can be. It can tear you apart, save you, or stir a range of emotions, especially when it holds deep meaning.

So, why am I sharing this with you?

Because you never know how much your presence can impact someone. We all play a role in each other’s lives, just as we play a significant role in our own. What we do, think, and say shapes our lives.

So, what kind of person do you want to be today? Tomorrow? Will you be open, welcoming, and available? Or will you be closed off, introverted, seeking silence? Whatever you choose, remember that you are being prepared to be the right person at the right time.
