Hello To This Version Of Me

After reading a few pages of This Is How You Heal by Brianna Wiest, I realized a few things:

1. I don’t want to lose hope.

I want to keep being the light, even with all the heartbreaks I’ve had this year. I’ve come to see that I was meant to cross paths with certain people, even if it led to heartbreak, because they helped me discover parts of myself I didn’t know. They uncovered a version of me that’s been shaped by time, pain, love, joy, and growth.

The stories I shared with them have taught me courage, grace, and compassion—not just toward others, but also toward myself.

Instead of reshaping my life to fit someone else’s story, I need to ask: Does this person align with my values, my vision, my life? It’s time to stop fitting into spaces that weren’t meant for me and instead hold space for those who fit into mine.

2. I need to be clear about what I want, especially in relationships.

After being single for so long and building wall, keeping myself safe, but also uncertain of what I want, I realized I need to be clear with my non-negotiables.

3. Even with self-awareness, I still have room to grow.

Self-awareness is not the end of growth—it’s the beginning. Life keeps evolving, and so must I.

The tools and beliefs that served me yesterday may no longer fit today’s challenges. I will stumble, I will fall, and that’s okay.

I need to meet myself with more care, love, and compassion as I continue to grow.
